FAQs

  • Here at Dental Art we believe maintaining regular Dental Check-ups is an essential part of maintaining a healthy mouth and smile. They allow one of our skilled and caring dentists to assess your mouth, diagnose and deal with any issues as soon as possible, or ideally to prevent them occurring altogether. By spotting problems quickly, before they fully develop, we can often address them in a more simple, economic and less invasive way. Win-win for all!

  • By taking the time and the care to investigate all the components of your mouth, we can establish your oral health and keep track of it over time.

Our expert team will thoroughly examine your:

    • Teeth

    • Gums

    • Soft tissues

    • TMJ (Jaw joint)

    • Glands

    • Tongue

    • Facial structures

If you have a build-up of plaque, your dentist will recommend a DENTAL HYGIENE visit (follow the link to find out more).

Here at Dental Art your health is really important to us, and at every check-up we will also look for any signs of mouth cancer or other general diseases that can affect the mouth at each dental check-up. This is important to monitor you, your well-being and to help us catch things early.

    • Firstly one of our dentists will ask about your general health, and any problems you've had with your teeth, mouth, or gums since your last visit to the dentist

    • Once we have discussed your presenting concerns, we will fully examine your teeth, gums, and mouth

    • We may also need to take X-rays of your mouth to check for any hidden problems, such as tooth decay and bone loss due to gum disease.

    • After your full assessment, we will then explain our findings to you and discuss any treatment options we recommend

    • During the appointment we will also ask about and give you advice on your diet, smoking and alcohol use and teeth-cleaning habits

    • Lastly, we finish up by discussing a date for your next visit

  • After your check-up, your dentist will recommend a date for your next visit.

Most patients are usually advised to visit us for 6 monthly recall visits. Some patients, however, will be advised to see us sooner at 3 month recalls, or others with recalls as long as 12-24 months.

Generally, the lower your risk of dental problems, the longer you can wait before your next check-up. So people with good oral health will probably need to attend only once every 12 to 24 months, but those with more problems will need check-ups more often.
